LCD has the lack of screen glare, but Plasma will have black, LCD just has really dark grey. You're still probably better off with a modern LCD screen 'cause they've made the difference in the black-ness of the black almost non-existant.

You guys are aware that each manufacture develops their own technology? Different panel tv's incorporate a variety of different technology in their processors. It's not just a matter of liquid vs gas.

i has a 42 inch lcd.
my dad brought a 52" sony bravia lcd for his bday pres lol...i just use tht baby ...full 1080p with all the trimmings...tis very nice

LCD lasts loner than a plasma. LCD better quality. The only thing plasma has better is there that motion scale or w/e. For example watchin sports you can notice chopping or lag. But the new LCD's have motion flow which u cant really tell if its choppping. Plasmas dont get rated because there motion scale is off the charts so u wont get any choppyness. My tv is a 52" sony XBR which is there top model that has all the extra stuff like motion flow and a higher contrast ratio. I would recomend getting a sony W series or XBR. If you dont watch a lot of sports or u wanna save the money you dont need the extra stuff. But if your willing to spend a lil more go for the XBR. Worth every penny. BEST LCD TV YOU CAN FIND.

i've got mine at 1080i, 'cos i can't get a 1080p gfx card on my comp nor can I get a 1080p cable box, as they don't have the broadcast technology here. So ya, full HD by definition, but not the best i.e. no blu-ray (because i don't have one, i should try to see if it works though)02fxnmaurer wrote:

I have the xbr4. The only difference between the XBR4-5's is the glossy finish on the 5's. I don't particularly care for it anyways.. but the bezels are interchangeable if I were to change my mind .. Not worth the money imo.HSG wrote:
