I have 60 gigs of fraps footage here, I want to convert it to reduce the file size but keep as much quality as possible.

I just put the file into WMM or Sony Vegas and it comes out smaller. Like, from 2GB to 90MB.

* Start VirtualDub
* Select File->Open and choose the AVI in the Fraps directory you wish to compress.
* Select Video->Compression and choose the codec you wish to compress with (usually divx)
* Select File->Save As AVI and specify a filename for the new AVI.
xvid codec at advanced simple @L5 single pass at about 1700kbps will make a viewable video that's not too big. If you have too many artifacts you may have to bump it up to 2200kbps.
I suggest using fraps footage at half size, because net videos don't need to be fullsize as you'll never get enough bandwidth to satisfy everyone. I use adobe premier pro and encode video with xvid and lame mp3 audio, ac3 audio, or you can even use windows audio if you don't have many codec packs installed.
if you google xvid codec you can come up with some guides to tweak your settings. in adobe ill process a 1min sample video and constantly tweak until i get the output i like at a small file size. if you try to process your whole video each time it'll kill ya in cpu time, and then rerun to tweak again etc, so get your settings perfect on a small file then process the whole shitter. also save often when video editing as corruption and crashes happen and you don't wana loose hours of work.
