I think it's a good thing that global warming is so hyped about, since that means people are more aware of the environment. Furthermore, the weather is still fucked up...

Yes. I don't think the global Warming debate is or will be solved anytime soon. Both sides of the argument should keep at thier argument untill more results are in. It's all very scary, should warming resulting from human industrialization.

I fully realise global warming is real, no denying, but as I said its overhyped, particularly when you hear its the warmest summer since *enter year* or coldest winter since *enter year*. My point is that, if Global Warming has been so catastrophic, why did those super hot summers not persist between *enter year* and *enter year*. The planet obviously cooled during that time and then heated in its natrual cycle, so its not in the least anywhere near as catastrophic as its hyped up to be.

Even the parts that do change as a result, (raise of sea level) we're humans, we can adapt, we've done it like every other living thing on the planet for thousands of years.

if the sea level would rise more and more I think The Netherlands should set up the "Alphaworks" like the Deltaworks. seeing I basicly live at sealevel now and some places like -5 below.

No, not really. Mean average temperatures usually indicate that a warm summer will lead to a warmer winter. There is no boomerang effect that I know of (in terms of local weather patterns). The things that contribute to climate variability (NASA) are just too complex and numerous; that even my general statement (about warming leads to more warming) is not that meaningful in terms of local weather patterns.

Also, people are easily confused about Global Warming as science; as a statistically detected and verified signal that is above any natural Climate Change trend. They're easily influenced by sociological factors rather than knowledge or critical thinking skills.

PS: I find it funny that people who post these threads don't even read thoroughly the links they provided, as they usually contain information, graphs and retracted statements that are contrary to thread's ridiculous opinion.
