First I ask not to be bombarded with replies of....this is so old, omg, use the search, awards are gay.....

I have been trying with a friend to figure out how to get the service ribbons and I believe I have found out how.

In the coding for SF the ribbons are commented out, but if you can find a server that has commented in the  coding you will be able to obtain these ribbons in 5hrs (if you have more than 5hrs just play for a bit and you should get them).  I base this on the fact that I have seen 5 seperate players who have the service ribbons with around 5hrs of play.  **Because they were commented out you probably will not see you have been awarded them during gameplay, they will just show up in your stats**

For example I wrote one down as:
Spetznaz service ribbon. 6:21:32
That specific player did not have 50 hours in theater nor had he played all the maps (played only in ghost town map).  So it would seem this is the only answer.

If you do find a server where you have obtained such ribbons, than please post the IP here.

I have over 30 hours with every SF side and I only have 1 ribbon (spetznaz) and I got that one exactly when I passed 50 hours in theatre.

I am currently up to 48hrs in theatre for SAS + rebel so I will see when I pass 50 hours for those wether I get 2 more ribbons.

I get my SAS-Service-Ribbon exactly by 50h in theater! But I don't get it in the game! I was in my stats! Same like Navy Cross!

speaking of the navy seal / mec sf theater i have the navy seal ribbon but not the mec..
however i have more time + more wins + better w/l ratio and better high round score with mec.
confusing no ?

I think it depends on when you installed the BF2SF.

I got my SAS early.  With under 20 hrs in theater, and maybe 8 hours as a SAS.  The other SF ribbons came after 50 hours in theater.  I do not expect to get more until I pass the 50 hours for the other armies.

I just got SAS and Spetznaz ribbons and both are just over 50 hours now.  never saw anything in the round about the ribbon, but today when i went ot see how i did the past few days it showed up.

A fellow clan member got 3 of the ribbons in one day; SAS, Spetsnaz, and MEC.  He had only 30 hours in theater for SAS, roughly 18 for MEC and 73 for Spetznaz, he also has no rebel medal though he as of now has 53:22:19 in theater.  So I know for sure it is not 50hrs time in theater.  I checked our servers redirect file for the awards and it has the ribbon commented out, meaning there is no way for you to be awarded that medal on our "ranked" server.... and our clan founder is to paranoid about playing with the file.

As I mentioned they were commented out so when you are awarded one you will not be notified as those that are commented into the coding..... for some dumb reason though the air ribbon IS commented in, though bo planes are found in SF, go figure.

I got most of mine (all but rebel and MECSF) depsite the fact that I play MECSF a lot more than the others, so far I havn't seen any suggestions for requirements which meet the ones I have.

Im low on hours on some of the maps due to them being taken out of the map rotation on the server i mostly play on (Freddyshouse #2) these are, surge, nightflight and something else i think.

I was looking at total hours in theatre for surge was bad (less than 5 hours) so I was trying to get it up today but its too hard to tell at the moment since the stats are lagging 12+ hours.

But something occured to me earlier that the other team on that map are spetznas which i have the ribbon for, so it cannot be just time in theatre, it has to be time playing that side per map.

I might see if I can get a contact at EA and email them asking if they can get the devs to release the info or something, its frustrating.

not sure if 50 hours is quite right, check out this guy, he has them all but the insurgent is still about 3 hours shy of 50.  Granted though, he has all the time on the other ones...though 80 ours in theatre and 6 minutes in game....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

I thought it was this:

50hrs in a theatre containing that army
5hrs as that army
Play ALL maps that army is involved (perhaps as that army as well, not just "play the map")

50 hours in the theater. Play all the maps that army is on.  That is all there is to it.

Here is the key.

SAS = Played Night Flight, Warlord, and Ghost Town along with 50 hours COMBINED on these maps.

USN Seals = Devil's Perch, The Iron Gator, and Leviathan along with 50 hours COMBINED on these maps.

Insurgent Forces = Night Flight, and Warlord along with 50 hours COMBINED on these maps.

MEC Special Forces = Devil's Perch, The Iron Gator, and Leviathan along with 50 hours COMBINED on these maps.

Rebals = Mass Distruction, and Surge along with 50 hours COMBINED on these maps.

Russian Spetsnaz = Ghost Town, Mass Distruction, and Surge along with 50 hours COMBINED on these maps.

You will receive the US Navy Seals and MEC Special Forces service ribbons at the same time. Like promotions you do not receive the award until the requirements are met and show in BFHQ. Once your time in theater shows 50 hours here in your BF2S stats the next round you play on one of the maps you will receive your award. It will not show it to you in game, but you will receive it.


I think one of the biggest issues with this is that UBAR does not reflect this.

Combined = all time spent on the map no matter the army.

really buddy ? you obviously didnt look at my stats cuz i have navy seals ribbon but no mecsf and i have more than 50 hours and have played all the maps and if you look at that site it says *may have other unknown requirements*

Yea, I have the same problem.  I have the Navy Seal Ribbon, but not the MEC SF Ribbon.

What do you mean commented out/in and would this show in the server info on All Seeing Eye ?

Apparantly it's 45 hrs for Insurgents, so another dude reckons who has 47hrs in Theatre and Insurgant ribbon.

HAS ANYONE ASKED EA?
