I installed Ubuntu on a computer, and I want it to connect to a workgroup that has all the computers running Windows XP connected to. How do I do this?
Use an application called Samba. That should work.
Then you should recognize the computers in the network and be able to share files and such.
A good example how to set it up can be found here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=202605
If you have a windows printer in that network, you might have to enable Unix printer sharing though.
