“Obamacans,” as the campaign likes to call its Republican supporters, offer a variety of reasons for turning out for Obama, not the least of them a lack of interest in the Republican primary now that Sen. John McCain of Arizona has all but wrapped up his party’s nomination. Others say they genuinely think Obama is the best candidate for change.

But a significant proportion say they are temporarily backing Obama for strategic reasons. They plan to vote Republican in November, but for now, their goal is to try to make sure Clinton cannot win.

Although he said he sincerely supported Obama, Rau acknowledged that “Hillary kind of represents the antithesis of a lot of Republican values.”
The latest poll: Clinton Leads in Ohio; Obama Up in Texas

Obama is gaining in Ohio though (Rasmussen).

It's actually looking like a statistical tie right now in Ohio.

I wonder if Ohio even matters for Clinton, if she wins it.  She's tanking bad.

It's good Texas has open primaries.

Actually, the winner of the delegation count only needs 2023ish delegates for the majority, right?  Then the superdelegates..which sway based on pandering and money..so Clinton could still win on that since she's the panderer in chief.

I don't know much because I stopped paying attention since the dirty campaigning has begun.  I'll pull my head up around the first of November to study up, if needed.

No kidding.  If Hillary wins, it will largely be the fault of the Democrats fucking over their own party.  The moderate conservatives seem to have a clue, whereas the Clintonites are just nuts.

That is coming from Clinton's camp. Their contention is that if he doesn't sweep than he is losing momentum and she is gaining ground. Whether you are getting your ass handed to you, or getting your ass handed to you not as bad, the results are the same Hilldog.

The sheep of the republican party would be pulling for Clinton (thank god for less sheep). The longer they drag this out the more disarray it causes while strengthening McCain. He is completely content to let them hammer at each other right now. I'm sure his staff watched each debate between the two with pad and pencil in hand.

I disagree.  Ive heard other numbers saying that clinton needs at least 65% of the vote for all of the remaining ballots in order to surpass Obama in the pledge count

Good points...  I'm glad the Republicans (and moderate liberals) chose McCain.  He was a lot saner than Romney or Huckabee.

I do wish he was conservative on the border and that he was less of a hawk, but other than that, he's ok.

In fact, I wish he could've declared himself a liberal Republican without backpedalling.  There's nothing wrong with liberal Republicans or conservative Democrats.  Moderation is a good thing...   unless we're talking about Hillary's corporate bullshit.
