I don't mean to be rude and all but I've been playing almost since the game came out (July 12th I started I believe) and I'm almost Gunnery Sgt. I'm not lazy or anything and I'm not a horrible player but I just don't understand HOW you manage to even get 20k already! I mean i worked my ass off just to get to where I am and there are people with 345,000 which is insane! That would take me 2 years plus of playing for me. Can someone explain? Thanks.

It is most likely your tactics that are keeping your score down. You need to work on capping more flags, getting more kills, and as many team points as you can.

From your stats you are only capturing 9 flags a day. At the rate of 18 points from flags and maybe 10-20 kills your progress will be slow. You should find a clan or server you find good team play on/with. The better your squad works together the more points you will get. I promise.

If you want to use my stats as an example I think I am a good player. A few months ago I was at the same point as you though. Low score per minute and a kill to death ratio that made me cringe. I just got better as I went and the points followed.

EDIT: Check out the link to our clan forum in my post. We have several 1st Sgts and Sgt Mjrs, but "several more" lower ranked members. The clan is a group of friends that enjoy killing strangers.

Check out their time averages. Firestorm averages 9.36 hrs a day, compared to Blazin at almost exactly 6 hrs per day. EVERY DAY.

I only get to play maybe 10-12 hours a week. 2-4 hours a day for 2-3 days (weekends mainly). If I played everyday for say 2 hrs a day, I bet I would have like 50K by now...but hey I've got other shit to do....

I was doing incredibly bad, but then I found that there is more to BF2 than medicing.

I started to play a lot of Assault/Support and Anti-Tank, and Anti-Tank was the one thing that kept me going.  Stay with one class, cap many spawns, and play on your favorite server.

You can always increase your global score by getting more team points, but that's been suggested.

My advice, since you play alot of Karkand, would be to get better with tanks and APC's. One APC shot can kill infantry, and if you practice short bursts (of 6-10) with the tank's coaxial machine gun, you can kill off more infantry at insane ranges without ever overheating.

Of course, if you have more fun with infantry, just stick with that and go knife some colonels. Score is irrelevant.

It's about overall time played.  Don't worry about it.  As long as you are having fun.  I've got wife and 2 young boys, so I only get a few hours a night.  And that's if my wife doesn't lure me away.

actually guys, the reason people like that rack up so many hours is that more than 1 person uses the same screen name.....I actually asked one of the guys that caught stat padding.........he was from japan and said he played in the morning and went to work in the afternoon and had atleast 2 other friends who would play at night..........this was awhile ago, but that seems to be the trick




Atleast the 200,000 plus people I myself have around 25000 and have played for some time now

I looked at your stats and the answer is easy.  You play for less than an hour a day, I play almost 3 hrs a day.

Your rite, its hard to even play 4-5 hours straight without knowing that you have to work the next day, workin/cleanin up around the house, hangin out with friends wether its drinkin or doin recreational sports, or the #1 killer of all time, "havin my girl yap away at how i love the game more then her or any nonsense sh!t". On my off days wen im free i camp on the game BIG TIME. The most i ever played was like 8 hours only gettin off the computer to take a leak, eat, or stretching by lying on the couch for only 5min. I cant see my self doing that every day, i'd probably have major arthritis. Either way i think the top ranked players are un-employed, young kids, or 40 year old virgins lol j/k.

You just need to play more and do what you are best at.....Don't get discouraged. You will find that the more you play the better you will get..and the better you become the faster your points will accumulate.

I think I am in the same boat, I average 4 to 5 hrs a day playin bf2. "It ain't easy" I have been tryin for my basic knife for about a month now .(not yet). It took 11 straight tries to get my basic pistol. & Then you get caught in someone's stats padding. "That really sux". Those guy's just make it that you really wanna quit the game completely. I'm not likely to accuse a player for cheatin, Although when you are a sniper or a player that goes way out in the map from the general fight & you see a teammate stickin close to you that is a medic"beware" chances are he has a friend on the other team (and they are on teamspeak or somthin). The next thing you know is that one is killin you while the other is reviving you. And there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. Short of leaving the server.This has happened to me a few times and it is sad.So "HOORAY' for the hard workin players that are in it for the true earnings of being a hard to get-it soldier,For there isn't a "DAMN THANG" in life that i've gotten for free yet! Root in and and kick ass!

Well.. I have played medic alot.. and that works really good and what I just discovered is that now that the Support gun has been fixed that gettin point that way works really good.. So maybe a way to get points is get many teampoints (cap flags, re arm teammates/heal/repair) shoot lots of enemies and try not to die to often cuz it takes time to spawn and walk back into the action Works for me I enlisted on the 10th of Augustus I believe and now got about 63000 points

Dude, I'm a Gunnery Sergeant and I've only been playing since mid December. I am 20 something hours from First Sergeant and I only play casually and I do not stat pad, so I have no idea why you wouldn't be a higher rank than me.

thats what i do.

I spent most of my time on foot, getting the expert kit badges, and now starting the vehicle whoring.
But its time played really.
at times i suck arse, i cant shoot right, cant do anything but die, but i jump into a tank clear the anger and i can own on foot again for a few rounds, Im really an advrage player who plays more than most others.
I suck at flying so i cant really whore that, and i get teamkilled out of choppers more than i get to gun

Thanks guys for your input. I am starting to get better as I just got gunnery sgt. a couple hours ago and unlocked the DAO-12 and L96A1 . I like Medic alot, but I sometimes I get bored with it and I switch my classes around a bunch. I suck at basecamping and vehicle whoring and hate when people do it. One reason I almost quite a couple times.

^^ That is what I don't get. How many hours a day? Do you have school or work? I go to highschool, go home do homework, and then go to Taekwondo during weekdays and on the weekends I am either playing BF2 or doing homework most of the time. It's tough to get alot of hours in as I either get pissed off or bored easily. I mean being blown up with a tank or apc in every server every round is not my idea of fun. But I still play because it is often fun at other times. I used to like using planes but they are really hard to use now with the new and improved AA. And helicopters I suck at flying, I'm good at gunning though if the pilot can fly well. I'm not good at using tanks or apcs because out of all the people who use them I'm always the one who gets his ass kicked immediately as soon as I enter it. Most of the time I'm medic or sniper and using transport vehicles to find teammates to revive or heal or finding a sniper spot or capping flags. If anyone has answers as to why I suck with tanks or apcs I'd love to know. Or what I'm doing wrong in my gameplay overall. Thanks.

EDIT: Oh yeah Retina I checked your stats and you've been playing since June 13th or something. A month before I started, so that could be why.

Many maps you dont need to basecamp.
The best place to camp on karkand isnt the spawn points, but the entrance. let them move out away from the spawn and shoot the wall behind them.

the square is harder not to spawn camp, cos infanty cant ruun to far anyway.
