how do you calculate for the hit? lets say for example, i am camping under the train on Karkand, and an enemy soldier is running parallel to the river on the other side, how far ahead of him should i aim to get a headshot/good hit? a call out to those extreme snipers for help
depends on rifle, speed and direction of runner and distance to target....
faster speed = bigger lead
greater distance = bigger lead
running diagonally away = less lead
running diagonally towards = less lead
M95 = lesser lead
Type 88/SVD = bigger lead
as a general rule tho i'd say between 0.5 - 1cm on screen for success

i just fire and hope im lucky i actually find that i manage to hit running targets quite often, especailly if he is running in a fairly straight line, and i get a sec to aim.. i guess i have just done it enough to have gotten a feel of where to aim when shooting moving targets
Yup,you could be right with this, although 1 cm is a bit much,3-5mm is more accurate....senor_fulff wrote:

In the end it's just practice, with time you get a feel for leading targets.
being a seasoned sniper, i would say it just takes experence. My stats for sniper arent that good, because i was sniper a LOT when i only had demo, and am only now getting bak into it, but experence is your best friend. You cant just say how much to lead, because every situation is different. My advice is to take some time with the kit, find out your favorite gun, and learn exactly how to handle it, and what it can and cant do.

It varies dude, depending on running speed, distance and direction. Although a good rule of thunb is middle distance diagonal at abour 1/4 cm and horizontal runner 1/2 cm and scale closer or further away as needed i guess. TBH i've never really thought about it before... just shot at what seemed 'about right'.
Hope this helps

fire one shot, see the smoke puff, then adjust to compensate
one thing i dislike about sniping long range ( 200+m ) is that you cant see the smoke puff so you really dont know if you are doing well.
Hmm, I have a question.. why on earth does usmc snipers use the M95 rifle? do they actually get to shoot pilots that often? I mean, the m24 rifle is more accurate, and as far as i know, has the same damage. Okay, so the bullet drop starts earlier with the m24 rifle, but thats not really a problem in my opinion. Maybe its just me, but i actually find the M95 rifle to be seriously inacurate
I don't think m95 can really shoot through cockpit glass, personally i think thats bs.
i've done it several times
took out the attack heli pilot with M95 myself..and watch the co-pilot went wtf, see it crash into their team's flag and killed the foot soldiers there..GeneralDodo wrote:

have you tried?GeneralDodo wrote:

and the 1cm thing worked, i got called a hacker, it felt good
Yeah man I've done that like 8-9 times, you just have to be in the right spot at the right time, and with the right settings.GeneralDodo wrote:

with the new patch, just aim, boom... headshot..
Ok well sometimes I guess and check but only if I have enough ammo. When I run down to 2 clips I actually semi-use the bars. I "feel" where the bullet would go if I were it (too much art class last year ) and shoot and usually I make it. But hey, it takes time to get mad skillz on the sniper rifle like me.
