The Nvidia Geoforce 7600GS has been nothing short of problems since I had it installed. I'll be in the middle of a battle in BF2 when the whole screen pixelates & freezes. The same thing happens when I play Day Of Defeat source. I have to end up shutting off & restarting my pc to resume what I was doing. How can I stop the pixelating freezing?

sounds like overheating to me. Could you give us some temperature readings of your 7600?

edit: download Everst free edition, and give us your "GPU temp" under "sensors".

freezing can be caused by variety of different problems.

Try upgrading your PSU accordingly to the rated power. Also I read, this applies to your card Video will not run because if the CPU is maxed out when it starts, unless it drops the hardware acceleration to where it disables DirectX.

If nothing works try this:
uninstall video drivers
run driver cleaner
install the latest chipset drivers
install the latest video drivers.

Download the latest updates for this chipset motherboard

Sorry m8, its the card.
I went through 3 from new egg- to find out its just something with the card that happens to a lot of people (lot about it on nvidia forums)
And I have a 500 watt psu, and bought a fan to blow on the thing. I finally got a new one though, so woot.
Things you can do:
94.21 drivers crash the least
Live with it
Get a new card (8600's are pretty good and there cheap)

This certainly sounds like an overheating problem.

Is your card Passive cooled, or does it have a fan?
What are the temperature readings? (Download EVEREST, or SpeedFan to check the temperatures)

GS overheating? What the fuck was my first thought. My 7600GS can run passively with the stock cooler of a 7900GT, which isn't very big.

Anyhow, check the temps.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
