Not your favorite bands, but bands that put on a truelly amazing live show that you've seen.

I am sure your favorite bands put on great shows.  I am asking you what shows just blew you away, were more than you imagined. For me, Tool does that, but that's kinda known that thier live shows are elaborate.  Another favorite band of mine is System of a Down.  They played thier songs to a T, and it was great, but it was just a live show, It was kick ass, but it felt like a regular metal concert.   I'm asking about bands that just had an extra something special, something that just hooked you, something you never saw coming, or had an energy that made your hair on your neck stand up.

Widespread Panic- (any show) Thier shows have this crazy, light vibe that just makes the show plain fun to see.  Maybe it's the dirty hippy mentality.

A Perfect Circle- Thier 2003 Live sound had a flair to it, a bit of difference from the studio, to a point that even though they are not my favorite band, they were my most favorite concert I have ever seen.  To this day I miss those shows.

Disturbed- Ozzfest. Not a truelly great band, but pretty good.   They were unexpectadley good live, and David (lead singer) had an energy and auhority to him that was pretty impressive.  On top of not being the "headliner" they put on a really good show

Rage Against the Machine- 2007 Alpine Valley.  O.k. maybe they didn't really do much to surprise me, but for being away for so long, and thier songs having a razor sharp meaning to it, they still nailed it, and performed better than I imagined, and made the rain and the mud not fucking matter.

Clutch- I am not a big fan of thier older stuff, but thier recent live shows have a sound that seems more authentic, and more of a "go with the flow" feeling, and for not being a famous, big band, they put on a fucking damn good show.

What about you? What bands knocked your fucking socks off at a live show?

Yeah, my first tool show in '01 was awesome.  they had people dabngling from wires, and silverp eople walking on the stage.  Craziness.  Thier shows are always amazing.  I totally agree.

I didn't actually list them, because IMO, it doesnt get much better than that. Knowing woh they are though, I kinda expected a wild ride.

Debbie Harry, November 8th 2007

Got grinded on by a gay guy (who completely missed his boyfriend) and debated with my sister whether the guy in the couple in front of us as straight or covering his homosexuality. D:
