Me and my friend have this joystick, I am on XP and have no problems, but my friend is on Vista, and can't install the software and he has no force feedback. The joystick centres, but it doesn't shake.

So I have 2 questions,

1. Do you need the software (SideWinder Game Controller Software 4.0) for force feedback?

2. Is the software available on vista? (I've looked in a few places but can't find it).

I thought I remembered a few people saying they had this joystick, do any of them have vista?

You would need that software to calibrate the force feedback. I'd go looking around on the web for vista support. Try looking through the manual to find the drivers, etc online.

I have the joystick, but no vista. Will be able to tell you this summer though...

You need the software for force feedback; don't kinow about vista availability though.

i just googled and didn't see any drivers
