Question on Bullet penetration.

Is it possible to kill 2 guys with one bullet? I dont mean from the .50 but from the M14 or other .308 based rifle. Say that both of them are lined up side by side on the sniper house on crash, Would it be possible to kill them both with one round to the chest? Will the round from the first guy go through the second guy and kill him too? Or just wound him? What if it was Hardcore?

Okay imagine this. Both of them are facing away from you, They are right by each other point blank! You're behind them with your AK47, You shoot at them. Will the bullet have the enough power to go through the first guy and into the second? Or because it's shorter will it just damage the first guy?

EDIT: depends on distance though...if ur not far enough away to do more than 100 poitns of damage then itll kill the first guy but only really hurt the 2nd

Yes, I've done it several times with sniper rifles. (It's even a challenge, collateral damage, I think).

Not with a .50 cal, but with the R700.

The R700 has better or equal penetration as the M82 so that doesn't really prove anything >.>
Not saying bullets don't penetrate, I'm just saying this is a bad example ._.

no. they can't, most assault rifles can, but not SMG's.

i don't know about shotguns though

the P90 actually wouldn't, its its RoF that makes it such a potent weapon. its 5 less powerful than the Mp5 i think

For weapons such as Sniper Rifle, which has unlimited range (at least in this game), the damage stays quite constant until the bullet strikes the hard surfaces. Therefore, it will go through virtually numberless amount of people before hitting a hard surface. This probably does not happen that often because I do not think there would be that many opportunity to see more than three guys line up like ducklings.

For other weapons, which have range limitation (means that the damage drops over the distance), depending on the distance that the bullet is traveling, the bullet will lose lethality. For example, in HC, it is possible to kill multiple targets with a single MP5 shot, but this does not happen as soon as some distance is given.
