Hey i was playing earlier today and noticed that i killed someone with a very odd named weapon

hmm there is a bit more stuff altered on this screen.. owned, got owned, owned? something is messy with this anyway
A co-axial MG is a machine gun mounted on the same 'axis' as another weapon (i.e. faces the same direction). What that means is that you killed someone with the machinegun mounted next to one of the tank's main gun (the one you have to right-click to shoot when driving the tank).
I ve read somewhere earlier here on the forums that you can edit some bf2 files on your computer so it ll say anything you want.

FrEaK, How do you make it so it says Owned, whare and how do I change that? And is it dangerous to change those thing dou to EA may think you are modefiing your files and are cheating?

On topic, all of the vehicle weapons have a specific name that you'll see once in a blue moon. In 800 hours, I've seen a hydra77 (attack chopper rockets), coaxial machine gun (driver's machine gun on tank), the gun on the attack chopper (forgot the name, lost screenshot), and the main gun on an airplane (also forget what it was called, and lost the screenshot.)
I have no idea how to recreate this, or why it happens in the first place. the one time I killed someone with the main cannon on the airplane, I was sitting in a helicopter. Good job Dice.

I killed someone with the tank drivers' MG and got the co-axial machine gun kill text once. Don't know what made it happen. That IS the coaxial MG, but usually it just says "T-90" or "M1A1".

I happens when:
A: The projectile is launched from vehicle but the person bails out or is killed before it hits.
B: You edit the localization files ( wich is the case here, methinks)

Yeh I've had that co-axial mg thing too. Strange, but unimportant.
coaxial refers to the Machine Gun next to the Cannon on a tank
