right now i have an xfx 8600gt xxx: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814150229

for my build that's coming soon, i want to up the graphics.
would my 8600gt slow down an 8800gt?
will i get better performance from to of these 8600gt, the above scenario, or just an 8800gt?

i've asked xfx...they said just 8800gt, but they could just be getting me to buy more crap.

thx for the help

My guess 1 8800gt > 2 8600gt sell the 8600 and buy a 8800

I think even if you overclocked the 8600gt it would slow down an 8800gt if they were running in sli. I don't know whether it would slow down to the point that one 8800gt is the better option however.

You can have an XFX 8600GT with an EVGA 8600GT in SLI(or any brand really, as long as it is an 8600gt). Not an 8600GT + an 8800GT.
