You're an immigrant? From where may I ask?HurricaИe wrote:
I was "eligible" to get my permit last June. My mom was very reluctant to take me to the MVA (DMV) since it's a fair bit out. So I couldn't get the driver's manuals to study up for the driving laws test until the middle of the summer.Mitch wrote:
On June 19th ill be able to get my licence, i have my permit now and theres a mandatory 6 months of having it.
It was near the start of school when I decided to take the test. My dad and I were going out to the MVA when suddenly he got a phone call from a co-worker. He said we were goin to the MVA and she was talking about how she took her daughter the other day... and that they needed a letter from the US State Department saying that they weren't diplomats (I'm an immigrant... legal of course). NEVERMIND THE FACT THAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT SHOULD BE ON YOUR FUCKING PASSPORT... long story short, my dad had to file for that letter and it didn't come till the middle of the school year, and now it's expired so he has to get a new letter.
Fuck you, whoever decided something that fucking trivial (ALL it would take would be a "DIPLOMAT" with a check mark under it if I was a diplomat) shouldn't be on a passport.
@Cable, no I really don't. Walking to the train stop, taking the train, then walking to the gym would get me there pretty darned late. I had a training session set up, hence the urgency.
@Everyone else, the mile alone wouldn't be bad at all, the fucking wait for a train / getting there would be
Really? I never heard of that before, what kind of weather are you having there? Tornados?HurricaИe wrote:
Why not a taxi?
I called them just now and they said they weren't sending any drivers until the weather cleared up.

That's what I thought. "Just some heavy rain". Go figureDauntless wrote:

I was supposed to go to the gym today to meet with my trainer at 4:30. It's 4PM now. I can't get there.
Why not the Metro?
The buses are incredibly shitty with their schedules and I would not make it there in time. If I took the train, I'd have to walk a mile to the gym.
.. or at the very least, to not live in the suburbs, a mile and a half away from the closest Metro station.
A 30-minute walk, tops? I guess you don't like exercise, huh?
for the last time, the walking wouldn't bother me, I just would not make it in time given the walking + waiting for a train + riding the trainOrangeHound wrote:

t-bar rows
a few ab exercises

I'll admit it: Having transportation is awesome. But, I'm bitter right now, so I'm going to say that having a car is a hassle, just because my well-kept car broke down twice in the past week from completely random failings of the starter motor and alternator. Twice it had be towed, and there was a heavy bill to repair it.
sux2bu :awsw::
ja but it's a crappy gym + school was closed yesterdayLT.Victim wrote:
