So check it out, like every once in a while, ill come home from school, have a fuckload of work, lay down at 4pm, be watching TV and just straight pass out (not even tired, still feel wide awake) and then Ill wake up at 10pm, slept 6 fucking hours.... Usually its okay, ill just do my homework till like 12 but tonite it was FUCKED.

So Im rushing around today, trying to get my scuba regulators for my spring break vacation (Costa Rica) the fucking shop lost my regs, then found them (long ass story) so I come home, I have about >hour to spare before I go up to the movies with this chic, who is hot as fuck and who I actually really like.... This is one of the rare occasions where we can actually get together (never hung out with each other - busy schedules)

So im just chilling, figure ill waist some time and watch modern marvels....

*wake up* Cell phone - 5 missed calls - 2 text messages

dad says, "Oh your up, hey its like 8 o'clock I think you missed your CHANCE at the movies"

(movie started at 7:10)

my fucking CHANCE? I JUST LEFT THIS GIRL ALONE WITH HER FRIEND AT THE MOVIES, INADVERTENTLY STOOD HER UP (I dont think he knew I had a date and thank god she brought her friend or else it would have been seriously FUCKED UP.)

Apparently he, "Tried" to wake me up to no avail... BULLSHIT HE JUST SAID MY NAME AND GAVE UP PROBABLY.

So how can I try to NOT fall asleep so fucking much? What the hell is wrong with me?

And plz dont say energy drinks, theyre too expensive to consume daily and if I drink too late then ill never fall asleep, and ive been known to chug a 16oz of Rockstar and then fall asleep 15 mins later

btw: This really fucking sucks, im so depressed, ive been thinking about tonite all fucking week its like the only thing thats been getting me through the week and this bullshit happens, and now I wont be able to get a weekend with her for 3 weeks (gone next week also)

Get on a regular schedule with a proper amount of sleep each night.  I used to be the same way, but because I went to bed at 1 or 2am and woke up at 7am everyday.  I would come back from school and fall asleep for 2 or 3 hours most days.  It's a self-fueling cycle.

Get an alarm clock? Tape the alarm clock on to your head and set the time. You'll never forget to wake up.

I'd be the wrong person to offer advice on this.

Yet again after working hard all week I find myself awake at 6.30am Sat morning, gutted.  Ive woken up farting like a horse, eyes like a rabbit in the headlights, or as if It was 10 years ago and I was popping "Disco Busicuits" in nightclubs.

I havent had a spliff for approx a month now and I thought I was going to struggle with this, but no, I go to bed and chew on some sweets and find myself nodding off with the sweet still in my mouth, dangerous I know.  Get up, zap the telly off, head back on pillow and bang, out like a light.

It dosen't make much difference if I have a drink or not, not even 4/5 pints of cider can stop this happening, very rarely now does my alarm clock do it's job, Im awake before it goes off.  Theonly thing I can put it down to is the stress I have in life right now and maybe my heads just ticking away non stop, all day, all night, the only relief is this forum, playing BF2 and "Time" with the Mrs (She wold tell you that don't last long either - I wouldn't agree).

People I have worked with have told me the older you get the less sleep you need but I'm 32 not 62 but it's really annoying.  My arse could of woken me up today as I really am letting them rip but that wasn't the reason, however it could of been the reason I didnt get back to sleep.

Anyway, Good Morning BF2s, no offence but I'm gutted to be here.

That's a start, but don't forget the other two. You need good food and good sleep or it's just going to wear you out even more.

The exercise that can poop me out the quickest are burpees, and you don't even need gym gear. Give those a shot and see how you feel.

Me too,but i'm glad i leave work in 25 minutes to go home and sleep, till tonights night shift.

So was the wind that bad you were hot stepping to the toilet?

On topic-

I find if i do everything i need to do before i sit down then i'm ok to go to sleep.
My body tells me i need more sleep but the kids say otherwise.

You will find with more exercise you will be more tired but will feel better for it.

I know you do use energy in your sleep aswell not just when you awake so eating the correct food is very important, maybe eat energy bars/coffee (or other caffine during the day may help.

Maybe see a doctor have a blood test could be sugar levels or the way your body turns sugar into energy.

I wake up and sound like a farmyard every morning.  Burping and farting down the landing/hall all the way to the toilet.  The mrs still catching zzzz's and asked me "Where you going"?  I told her "Can't fecking sleep again, and your not going to play dutch ovens are you"?.  I won't give her reply to that.

^ Taking uppers regularly to stay awake will make you reliant on them. Not a good thing. But if you think it might be a problem other than some of the suggestions I listed before, yeah...I'd definitely go see a doc.

Speaking of which, the majority of them I've talked to recommend vitamin C. The chewable orange ones are good, in 500mg. Usually take two every day and it keeps me going through cruddy weather.

That's the thing. It's good to feel a bit tired. More exercise, fueled by proper food, will slip you naturally into a good sleep schedule. Of course, if your job is something like sheetrocking...you need not apply for gym.

For the serious posters

I think what im going to start doing is taking a multi-vitamin again, and going to the grocery store to get some fucking food (hot pockets + chicken pot pies = yummy but also = fail)

Probably do the gym too, not just for the sleep though

And I get the whole feeling better and shit and im definately going to do the above but anyone explain what might be happening with the just falling asleep not feeling tired? I fall asleep in algebra because im tired, but not on the sofa (at least I dont feel it, and im not chugging energy drinks)

for the above point ive already received Vitamin C deficency, iron deficency and Hypoglycemia (which Im pretty sure I have but I purposely avoid HIGH sugar things like soda/sweets etc.)

Solution for the deficiencies = Multivitamin and I will try it, Hypoglycemia, Im really, really fucking afraid of needles (Kind of fucking traumatized as a kid when I asked for a moment for breath to get ready for the needle ((weekly blood tests, they were basically testing meds on me when I was real little)) so 2 assholes at the clinic held me down and one drew blood)

Ill be in Costa Rica for the next 7-8 days, ill see if I can get some WiFi on my phone but basically it will be hard to respond with a little iPhone QWERTY keyboard....

+1 for the serious help - but please keep responding

Falling asleep inadvertently and constantly is usually a sign of bottled up stress and your body wants to 'lock down'. I suggest you find out what's bothering you a lot (and not the sleeping thing..) and try and rectify it.

Exercise more, go to bed earlier, spend less time in front of your PC, eat more fruit and lay off the caffeine if that may be an issue.

Exercise. Seriously, it's largely irrelevant what you eat, as long as you take out at least an hour or two a week to exercise. Stress combined with poor form will deck you like a ten dollar whore.
