Ok so now, about every 10 minutes or so, or sometimes even a window pops up on my computer and says "trying to connect to broadband" or something like that. Is my computer trying to use dial-up? I don't know how to stop it from doing it, as it pretty much stops my internet (a cable connection) from going anywhere else for a while. I don't know why my computer thinks it needs to be connected to the internet 2 different ways, but apparently it is trying to do it.  [does some messing around with network settings] I think I may have fixed it, I told it to not start a dial up connection when someone else was connecting to the internet in my network. Anyways, some tips/thoughts would be nice.

Try this.
Go to control pannel, click on "Network and Internet Connections" go to "Network connections" and turn off every connection but the one you use.

Edit: You probably have like 2 connections, dial up and something else, turn off the dial up one.

I have 4 there, only 2 being used, the ones that aren't say "disabled" but the broadband one only says "disconnected" and it keeps trying to reconnect. There is no option on it to disable it or turn it off. I can delete it but I don't want to screw something up.

Set a system restore point, then delete it.
