Because,
A. OSX is faster.
B. It's more stable.
C. It's excellent as a work space, especially for designing and web programming.
D. It's nicer and better.
E. Adobe products works 10-20% better on OSX.
F. Getting OSX to work well on a PC will generally make it faster than it being on a MAC itself.
G. XP is not always the way to go.
H. Games can be played on OSX. Not all, but the big ones ( WoW etc ) can and work perfectly on it.

Stop being a fundamentalist PC fan.

Actually;

A: False
B: True
C: Depends on preference and what you're doing
D: Again, very subjective
E: False
F: True
G: True
H: Why would you want to play a game on OSX on a PC? Seems crazy and it is a rubbish gaming platform

Even though I hate Macs, I have to agree on this one. I work at a television station at my university and we edit with both FCP and Premiere. Aside from one particular show, I do all my editing on FCP, and so does everyone else. Premiere is only good for green-screening; yes, I know FCP can chroma key as well, but I tend to get better results with Premiere. But other than keying, FCP is the best.
Premiere + After Effects > all
If you actually have a reason to back that statement up and have tried FC as well, then maybe I would listen. But I am highly inclined to listen to whatever Bertster has to say about Macs. He is probably the most unbias Mac person here.
I use a Mac and PC everyday in conjunction with each other, and I find most of their (Mac) programs sub par compared to Adobe's software. The simple integration of their programs alone makes them worth it (import .psd files into premiere and vice versa).

And I work for Apple, but hate Macs with a passion.

That said, FCP and Logik Pro are the best bits of software for doing what they do, simple as that.

I use Macs and PCs all day everyday and have numerous contacts within the film and TV industry, which I have done some work in too.

FCP >>> anything Adobe have to offer.

I am comparing it to Vista, not XP.

Ok, fairly similar speed then if you're running Leopard. But you forgot way less secure.

Wait, Leopard is way less secure than Vista?

And no, I would compare to Tiger if anything.
