how to get a Wii?

I was inspired by that Smash Bros Brawl thread.

My sister's birthday is coming up and she's wanted a Wii for a while now. My mom knows I spend all my time on the computer and she asked me to find out how I can get a Wii.

Obviously there's eBay, but fuck I could just buy another PS3 with how much they cost.

So... what are the best ways to get a Wii at the REAL price? The only good idea I've heard is if you live in NYC, the Nintendo Store there gets a shipment once a week. If you go early you can apparently get one there. Problem is I don't exactly live close to NYC (though I could possibly visit for spring break... college shopping if you will... and stop by there).

TL;DR: How can I get a Wii?

I waited in line overnight at Walmart.. just find a big store, and ask when their shipments come in. Then, wait in line outside so when they open at midnight, you are there.

Best bet is to ask the store manager of a local best buy when they get their next shipment...do it a few days in a row to make sure and let them know you're serious about getting one. Get their the day they get them opening time and you'll be good

Stores here in the East have mountains of Xbox360s I have to climb over.

PS3's are never bought and are rusting on the shelf with the outlandish prices and few worthwhile games unless you are a blueray disk crackhead.

Went in to Best Buy one day to look around last month, and this lady had 2 Wiis in her arms. She had one of those "haha I got the last turkey from the frozen locker" faces you get on Thanksgiving. People were eyeing her though...like hungry wolves...this just reminds me that civilization and a free for all State of Nature are but seconds from each other.

It is all about LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Find a retail store(s) that sells electronics that is next to a Best Buy away from the mall or good distances away popular shopping centers. I dont know what it is if everyone goes to Best Buy and forgets the other stores or too much of snoobs to walk into a place like Wal-mart but I have been fortunate to get the high-demanding gear & titles that way.
