Oh no. don´t do that.
My first comp was an Aldi and it was not a lot of fun.
Always had problems with it and when the repair guy came over for the third time (guarantee service was great, no doubt about that) to exchange my Graphic card for the second time in two years, I asked him for a possible reason. He looked at me with a little smile and told me that the Aldi Comps are mostly build out of second hand/quality parts, hence why the can sell for so cheap.
So, they make more money with buying cheap parts and once in a while replacing them for free, then with buying good parts in the first place.
Stay away.

I wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot stick.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

didn't have 1 single prob with it for 3 years... guess I was lucky.

I wouldn't buy one now.

It's just so that when you build one succesfully, you can't even look at pre-built computers without laughing your ass off.

Buy it, rip 8600 out, sell 8600, replace with 8000Ultra.

I know it's much better to make your own PC, but I was expecting to see some shit specs when I saw the advert for a PC in Aldi, and was pleasently surprised.
