I don't think that gun bans make a blindest bit of difference really. I mean in Barbados there are no gun laws, yet there are rarely gun homicides. And because of the "no gun laws" my Grandpa owns a Magnum .44 and a Benelli M3 shotgun. Lolz.

If something dramatic enough to turn into a civil war were to happen, the military would be split also. So half of them would likely be on our side.
More so, look at Iraq... As I have said a million times before around here, if a small country of insurgents can hold off our military, with the support of about 10 more militaries showing support, then a nation the size and spread of the USA would be able to hold off damn near anything. They would have to bomb us to death, and then they wouldn't have us to lord over, so they would still lose in the long run.

See, people can get guns from other places.
Prevent people from getting guns, and the bad guys will get them elsewhere. Give everyone the opportunity to own a gun, and you get a solution to most problems.

Guns still banned, homicides still happen.

I can't even go to the local range by my house to shoot, as I never applied for an Illinois FOID card. Individually, this situation makes no sense. I'm not too sure how much sense it makes in the larger picture, but that is a different debate. There are no easy solutions to gun-crime control and crime control in general.

I don't agree though... My point was the population versus homicide rate is in line with every other state, legal or not. There isn't one magic state where guns are illegal and the number of homicides is dramatically lower...usmarine wrote:

There are no examples to use though... The homicide rate is higher in Washington DC, and guns are illegal there, but everyone will just argue they come across the border...
In Hawaii that is removed form the picture, and yet, the numbers still match... Just like all of the legal states...
