"Sophie Lancaster died in hospital two weeks after the attack. A 15-year-old boy kicked and stamped to death a woman because she was dressed as a Goth, a court heard. The drunk teenager was among a gang of five who "savagely and mercilessly" attacked Sophie Lancaster, 20, and her boyfriend, Preston Crown Court heard. The court heard Miss Lancaster's facial injuries were so severe, paramedics did not know what sex she was. Tests indicated she had been kicked and stamped to death, with the pattern of some footwear still on her head."

This is the kind of story that makes me want to beat the living shit out of chavs purely on general principle ...but I guess that would make me as bad as them wouldn't it? I used to be quite fond of black t-shirts and loud angry music when I was younger and I used to get violent abuse for it too, but not on this scale. This is sickening, these little shits should be burned at the stake.

Or a similar disaster that would bring people together. You know all those films/TV shows where they talk about destroying most of the population for the "greater good" - sometimes they're not entirely wrong.

What are chavs? Is it a term for youth hooligans or are they a particular race? What's the deal? Would they be considered like the bloods and crypt gangs here in the US? In Los Angeles we have special police for gangs. They operate with less impunity and IMO are very effective. Maybe you guys need the same.

You're glamorising Chavs. They aren't part of one gang like the Crips or whatever, they may not be part of any gang. It's just under 18's that have nowhere to go and noting to do so they do this sorta stuff. Usually drink influenced, probably Cider.

And we have "Special Police", but when pretty much most kids are doing it you will never have enough Police.

so it sounds like chavs are uneducated poor people. we have those. theyre called white trash if they are white and a host of other racial slurs if they are other races. the thing ive noticed about this socioeconomic class is that some of them are really good people and others, like Russell Henderson and Aaron McKinney are monsters. you cant really pin them down to one style because they can be found all over the country. some of them dress like gangsters, some like cowboys, others like metal heads, to be honest, you really cant tell anything just by looking at them. they might look, more or less, a lot like yourself.

it kinda scares me to hear you guys condemning "chavs." i mean its one thing if u define a chav by their actions, like if chav was to refer to a convicted violent criminal, but when i hear you guys defining them with stuff like "tracksuits" and other superficial things, it concerns me that some of you are jumping to conclusions and making snap judgments about people you dont know. this dehumanization of lower social classes happens over and over and over again in human cultures, and it often culminates in the violent persecution of innocent people. im not accusing anyone of anything, but i just want to make sure that you are all giving people the benefit of the doubt. in other words, burning someone at the stake for looking like a chav is just as bad as burning them for looking like a witch, jew, black, etc. or for that matter, its just as bad as stomping someone to death for looking like a goth. i just want to make sure that you guys arent judging people based on superficialities rather than a persons actions or the content of their character. like if you drive by a street corner and see some of these chavs standing around and have some angry thoughts, then maybe you need to rethink your stance, because its fundamentally illogical to judge people you dont know.

but with that said, the people that attacked that goth couple are terrible, they are the poster boys for capital punishment.
