The amount of memory doesn't make any difference. A gig is more than enough.Funky_Finny wrote:

Here's a gig of ram for £20.DeathUnlimited wrote:

That isnt the same comparison here.Funky_Finny wrote:

Here's two gigs of the same ram for £20.
Which would you have?
Too bad it doesn't go like that. good quality memory chips cost way too much to do that. If they do, it is the absolutely crappiest memory they could find.Funky_Finny wrote:

Yeah and GPU memory greater than 1 gig is not necessary for any card yet. Unless you like running >2560×1600GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Doesn't 3-way SLi have optimisation problems with some games though?kylef wrote:
In some cases, you could get 3 x 8800GT SLi (assuming you have 780i) cheaper than that. Expeeeeensive! - but people will pay.
That's not the point! (Oh, and I'm not sure..)some_random_panda wrote:

except that you can't run tri-SLI on the 8800GT; 8800 GTX, Ultra + the new 9 series onlykylef wrote:

and only the more expensive 9 series cards. The cheaper ones like 9600gt have only one SLi connector.max wrote:

only one SLi connector on the 8800GT. 3-way SLi needs two. nvidia wants more money you seeekylef wrote:

really. At least my 2 8800GTs only have one connector. The second connector is pretty much the only difference between the 8800GTS and the 9800GTXkylef wrote:
