With the next patch (1.6) there will be several new maps. At first I thought, well hey! Great! New maps. But then I started thinking.
Why are we creating new maps, when the current maps can be extended far beyond the current space?
Ok, hang on, I'll explain exactly what I mean.
I'll use the Bloc map to explain.
There are some great areas on the Bloc map. The swimming pool and the court, basically the two spawn areas, in which is almost never fought, but also non-reachable areas such as the floors of the buildings which have been cut of by a blocked staircase, or have no staircase at all.
Now Bloc is one of my favorite maps. Great sniper battles, which good opportunities to flank your enemy. Why are they creating new maps, when with less effort, one removes the rubble on th stare cases and make the 2nd and 3rd floor accessible.
Same goes for Shipment, it has several streets surrounding it, and some buildings. Why not remove the gate and by that creating more space to play.
Overgrown, why not make the countryside walkable. Tall grass + ghillie suite. Do the math.
Countdown, why not make the area available that leads to the silo's?
Why not create a map using the Chernobyl SP maps as a firm base?
Why are people creating new maps, mostly of lesser quality, instead of making the existing maps better?
I have played several community maps, but I am so disappointed by the poor quality, they lack the CoD4 feeling.
