what motivates me in school is that I know if I don't do well enough, I won't be able to go to the college I want. And my parents will get mad at me also if I don't do well.
You don't need to have ADHD to need ritalin. Could be ADD. Just talk to a doctor, get a prescription and see if it helps. Hell, I know non-ADD/ADHD kids who take it anyway just to do better on tests.ThaReaper wrote:

I've learned that if you listen to that inner voice, the ones you ignore sometimes, it's the right decision. Act on it.ThaReaper wrote:
I think I might study tonight, something I NEVER do.
Are there any online ADD or ADHD tests?
Try itThaReaper wrote:

I can't testify as to it's efficiency. You're best off asking a doctor if you're seriously concerned.
none that i'd rely on...ThaReaper wrote:

Study your ass off and absorb as much knowledge as you can in high school, because at this day and age of highly paid "nerds", many of the hot girls in colleges do go after the smart and successful looking types. Hell, I had hot redheads who were taller than me asking me out. So long as you aren't a social retard that is.
Dang, I think I do have ADD.

American political jokes are wasted on me. I have no idea bout John Kerry's thoughts about the armed forces.
now is the perfect time to enrich your sense of global knowledge.
Sen. John F. Kerry, speaking Monday in California, said students who study hard "can do well." He added: "If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." (By Ann Johansson -- Associated Press)bennisboy wrote:

if you dont stay in school and get ur smarts u will end up working a shitty low paying job, regretting every fucking day of your life. You may take advice from people, in 1 ear and out the other. but if you dont listen, and u fuck it up for yourself, you will punch yourself in the balls for not listening. then you will say whatever you can to the younger generation to get them to fucking listen. even tho they wont because they are the same punkass you once were...
go to school high as fuck and bring an ipod touch to keep you occupied thats the other thing i have to look foward too in my day at school. that and swimming class
Not being educated = having to ask do you want fries with that. Seriously, if you don't get an education...or at the every least have the ability to do something that is important on the job market i.e. the ability to secure a network or decipher the cure for cancer, you will not get a decent paying job unless, of course, you know someone or something.

I (as a senior) go to school with the knowledge that in several months, I'll be in Busch Gardens with some friends, learning the effects of G-force on the human body.
EDIT: Actual helpful bit:
Don't worry about it, just look forward to seeing friends and keeping your grades up. Like my physics teacher said, high school is the best four years of your life. Mix fun with learning.

@Cowami, your physics teacher should go borrow some liquid nitrogen from your chem teacher and drink it. I'm no prophet but I know I will have far better years in my life than high school.
@GS, if I went to school and studied I would've noticed that post instead of being stuck on the 2nd page of this topic

make the decision to like your classes
Yes, definitely have fun during high school, but put education as priority. Being team captain, head quarterback, band leader, President, dating a cheerleader means nothing once you are out of high school. At the 10 year re-union, those looked up to are not those above.

make some friends that are competitive academically. It really helps because you feel like an idiot if you don't study or do as well on tests.
Also, reward yourself for studying. The reward should be administered by a parent if you want a stronger reinforcer. (Psychology)
