It's called integrity. Look it up.

He denied the "analysis" done by the reporter, who jumped to incorrect conclusions and published them. He never denied his own remarks.

The man resigned to eliminate even the perception--unfounded as it is--that he is somehow a "lone wolf" fighting the Administration. It's simply not the case, but he knows (as do most of the rest of us) that no matter how many times he says it's not the case, underinformed people will claim all kinds of ridiculous crap based solely on one reporter's conclusions without bothering to learn the actual facts.

So, kind of like BF2S D&ST.

Fallon was the subject of an article published last week in Esquire magazine that portrayed him as opposed to President Bush’s Iran policy. It described Fallon as a lone voice against taking military action to stop the Iranian nuclear program.

Gates has said publicly and privately that under current conditions he’s opposed to war with Iran. Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen is also against it. In fact, almost every senior military officer we’ve talked to is against launching military strikes against Iran, because as one senior official told us, “then what do you do?”

As do others apparently.
Let me try this again.

Graybeal said nobody is actually losing a job. Personnel are simply being shifted to responsibilities outside the command. In some cases, personnel might be deployed overseas.

Many of the cuts are coming among reservists or what CentCom calls "augmented staff," which are personnel assigned to the command on a temporary basis and who are not permanent.

The article is online also.

that actually makes perfect sense.  A lot of reservists have been allocated to active duty positions throughout the armed forces.  Smart move.

Didn't figure they could keep up the augmentation forever. I spent a year there as an augmentee...it was crowded as hell in that building.
