Right. My mate from nextdoor is in search for a new monitor, and needs some reccomendations. He has a budget of around £200, and wants the best 19"+ monitor he can get.

I need links aswell! +1 to helpful suggestions.

Thanks!

You can get a nice 22" with that budget.

Just look around that site, the best brands are Samsung and Dell. Infact I'm using an "old" Dell LCD from 2001 and it's still going nicely.

I chose that Samsung than more expensive options as it has a nice contrast ratio etc.. I'd recommend that, unless he really wants 19" then get this:

Although it's out of stock

DABS.com? theirs are cheap, dunno about quality but you could probably get a decent size for that price
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

Go Dell. srs

Dell 22" Monitor, 1680 x 1050 Resolution, 5ms Response
How much do you think?
Spoiler (highlight to read):
£184 inc P&P + Vat!

(Thats after a 2 minute look, there are far better ones out there on Dell...)

Tell him to build his own monitor. He could get a much better one for half the price...

He said around 200, I'm sure he could find an extra 11 to get the best monitor possible.  (I have no idea how to make that euro sign so I didn't use it...)

Edit:  Thats pounds isn't it...

I suggest at least 20". The 20" has a nicer screen ratio. Its not so "square" looking, a bit wider than the 19".
