[PS3] Awesome Media Sharing thing

You can share media in Windows XP using the library function (formerly Windows Media Connect) in Windows Media Player

If you have Windows Media Player 11 go to tools - options - library - configure sharing, click the check box to share your media.

Search for a Media Server on the PS3 and it should pop up in windows as an Unknown Device, select to allow it.

To select folders you would like to share click on [Monitor Folders...]

Also remember to allow devices to connect automatically in Windows Media 11.

Basically, this means that I can stream all my music etc.. from my computer, wirelessly, through to my PS3. Which is awesome. Cos now I can listen to all my music and shit whilst in my room. Damn, this piece of kit keeps getting better and better.

I was thinking i'd have to USB transfer all my files, but I don't

edit: Also make sure that Windows Media 11 is configured correctly so that its Library has your music that's on your PC

Use 10 or 9

You probably use them because you have a cracked non-wga-passing Xp...

I have them (never use) because the newer versions take too much of my valuble HD space.

It indeed is much better than the modern one. I, however, prefer Winamp

No, I have bought a license - and I missed some of the windows updates... :-)

I prefer WindowsMediaPlayer Classic too
I prefer Acrobat Reader 5 ;-)

XP has been cracked to death, nothing is left for 'genuine versions only'.

I don't see a problem with WM11. I used to always use Winamp and Realplayer, then I thought "this is stupid" and deleted them both and started using WM11 to keep things simple, it really isn't a bad media player. It does everything you want it too.

I like to keep things updated, so you won't find me using IE6 or old Media Player versions, not that I use IE. Firefox all the way.

Xbox 360 doesn't come with inbuilt wireless, you have to either buy it seperatly or use the ethernet cable.
