The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Really depends on the game.

Yea the 8800GT is a sweet card. I have it and It's amazing. I can play all games on max. Bioshock, Gears of War, COD4 and TF2. Crysis runs all high with like 2xAA and it's playable.

I went from a 7900 GT to an 8800 GT OC, and the difference is HUGE. I can actually play Crysis now, and it looks like this:
