There are still quality games on the PS2. If mines didn't break, I wouldn't have got a PS3. I mean shit, GTA:San Andreas, Gran Turismo 4, MGS:3, Midnight Club 3. Still all top quality games that would still keep me occupied.
I didn't even manage to get half way through GT4 before my PS2 crapped out on me
Then the 60gb consoles were sold out, so now I have to wait for GT5:P before I get my fix

Right now it may be.
Too bad I only play games online.

lol, i was just reading that article. The PS2 has some really great games and its considerably cheaper than the next gen consoles
That article speaks the truth, I still love my PS2 and play games on it regularly. That console has so many awesome games it's unbelievable: I still haven't even played some of the best ones, FFXII, God of War 1 and 2, Devil May Cry 1,2,3 and others. Kickass console.

I agree with that. I love my PS2 and it's still keeping my company. Screw next-gen systems, I don't need them!
People these days are too obsessed with fancy graphics and visuals. No one cares about gameplay anymore, it's pathetic. Games are all about gameplay. If I wanted nice graphics, I'd watch a movie, ffs!
Luckily the PS2 has plenty of great games that I keep going back to over and over and over again. I must only have 20 or so games (might sound like a lot, but compared to most gamers it's not), and they've kept me busy and having fun for the past... what? 10 years?

You could just get a 60 or 80GB PS3
@mtb0, 8 years or so if you got the PS2 at launch

I'm amazed at how bad some of the next-gen "top games" are. Gears of War is absolute shit. It just looks rather good. Halo 3, amazingly crap.
PS2 ftw. Metal Gear Solid 3 is just soooooooooooo damn awesome.

Lol, you just made me go and set-up my PS2 for some Tekken 5 and RE4. Too bad the PS2 looks bad on a HDTV.
Hell yes!!! MGS3 (I spelled it right that time not MSG) FTW!!!LaidBackNinja wrote:

Oh god I loved CB. Any of you guys play Spyro as well? But back to crash bandicoot, I loved CTR (CB version of mario kart)! Me and my friends would play that all the time! It was especially fun when I got a multitap and we had 4 people going. Insane fun right there on the PS1.Fallschirmjager10 wrote:

I agree with them.
With the PS2 and original PS games, the PS2 is the best value for your buck easily right now... given that you don't care about cutting edge graphics or online capabilities.
I'm gonna go buy one of these when I get my tax return. My ps2 was stolen, and it pissed me off. Sure, we got a 360 to replace it, thanks to insurance, but it's not the same. I could go down to this shop we have here, and find a great PlayStation game for 5 bucks... and when I finished it, I could do that again.
Cheapest and best gaming ever.
All the Final Fantasy games for the PS cost me about 20 bucks. One of the best Price/Time ratios possible.

Lol spyro, I had that also. And CTR was the shit. There was also a game with a whole bunch of challenges and shit and you were the CB characters. Cant think of the name now but that was good fun too....mtb0minime wrote:

Crash Bash! Can't say I was a fan of it, though. For one it wasn't made by Naughty Dog, and also the games kinda sucked. The AI was ridiculously cheap and me and a friend were going for 100% and kept getting so pissed off. Eventually we made it to 100%, but then there was like a bajillion other things to do, so it was like 116% that we made it to... Very annoying.Fallschirmjager10 wrote:

I was one of those gamers who had to get everything, so on the CB games where 100% actually meant getting every single thing, I did it. Same for Spyro <3
