Right, extensive (erm...) tests confirm the issue is FireFox.

In Firefox 2, when you zoom in / out, all it does is increase / decrease the size of the text only, the rest of the page stays the same size.

In Firefox 3, when you zoom in / out, it actually increase / decrease the size of the whole page.

The increase text size in FF2 causes the "tabs" to take up more space in their bar, causing them to overflow onto new bars.

So, just need to wait for Firefox 3 final to be released and for everyone to upgrade then?!

Yeah zooming in FF2 just changes the text size, which makes some pages look incredibly crap.

No Scorpion, not how it is done. That is the same idea, but with one flaw, it's not completely browser friendly. The visibility options can cause some problems in older browsers.

Instead, positioning of the LIs and the "display" function in CSS is used ( i.e display: none; display: block; ). It works much more effectively and doesn't cause so many headaches when trying to code something like this.

Karma, have you submitted the site to Google?
Also, I will see what is going on with these menus. If you look at it, and then refresh the page where the error is, the CSS problem disappears. Strange, but there must be something wrong with the code.

Yes, there are alternatives. But they're all based on the same basic technique.

Agreed. The site looks good, but you kinda went crazy with the whole reflective text thing.

Very nice. Few coding issues but the actual design is almost flawless. Very impressed! I browsed through the site fine but when I went 'home' this happened; also, actual going to the address in the address bar doesn't work either - I'll probably have to clear my cache before I see it properly:

Cheers for the comments guys.

ghettoperson - what do you mean? Just in the header image (i agree, i need to redo it), or other graphics else where?

Im just going to have to sit it out until firefox 3 is released for this menu problem to (mostly) go away. Shouldnt be too bad, as the focus for the site is more business / corporate customers who will just be sitting at their workstations with IE6/7

Btw, 228 hits from bf2s... not bad!
