Here’s what happened:
I was walking home from school one day and I ran across this kid I worked with on July 4th (manning a parking lot, made $110 ) in the ally unloading something from his car. So I stopped and said hello. Somehow, the topic turned to his situation (no job, living with parents at age 20 something). ***I can’t really remember most of the conversation, sorry*** So I started telling him how I had worked with my Uncle at his construction company for a couple of weeks and made $400. I think what I told him was something along the lines of: "you never know if you don’t take a chance; just go for it". I saw him again the other day while I was coming back from work and he had just pulled into his parking spot, so I stopped to say hi. He asked me what I was doing out and I told him I was coming back from work and then he said he just got back from work too !!!
So I think my "talk" (if you could call it that) changed his life for the better. Now he is working in a rehab facility making money for himself.
Good God does the feeling of knowing you might’ve helped change someone’s life feel great. I makes it seem like everything is alright and nothing could go wrong. It just makes you feel like you did something right for a change.
