You can actually use mines and claymores now. Thank god.

How so? Have they disabled claymore teamkills in 1.2? (I have searched, but I only found posts ranting about what sucks in 1.2.)

If they have disabled claymore teamkills, it should make things easier. But I would rather they'd just colour code the damned skull-and-crossbones symbols. Red for C4, yellow for anti-tank mine, white for claymore. And make it so that you couldn't be punished if a team mate walked into a claymore that had been there for more than ten seconds (so he couldn't argue that someone put it there to attack him).

The server's I've been playing on allow your teammates to run right over them without setting them off.

haha, thats true. I got my basic explosive badge yesterday spamming claymores at a flag I would probably have got veterans as well because the same guys would never stop trying to cap that flag but I had to stop playing in the middle of the round when my GF had some major issue

I PRAISE the non-teamkill mines and claymores in this patch...   I had tried unsuccessfully in the past to acquire the exploives badge...  but usually got booted from the server because of teamkills...  on many many servers where my teammates failed to recognize the red skull on the screen in 1.12..  and they would run over a claymore or mine...

So EA "noob-proofed" the explosives...

Now is the time for me to get the basic explosizes patch
(Yeah I may suck but I have most of the veteran badges without point farming!!!)
(I got them the old fashioned way...  I PLAYED the game)

So how do the enemy clear mines now? I tried to get rid of a claymore of mine with a grenade (before I realised it couldn't hurt my own team) and the grenades wouldn't destroy it.

Surely claymores aren't indestructible now? That would enable one team to mark off a whole area impassable, and the enemy would be stuck (unless they wanted to send in suicide mine cleaners over and over again).
