My friend needs a new Gfx card

He doesn't have much to spend. $75 US max and he wants to be able to run Crysis on low and CoD4 on decent settings.

Which one of these looks better to you. Or suggest another Gfx card for around the same price.

He's looking at one of these two:

I'd go for the Apollo card. It's actually LESS after rebate.

It's also not open box, and it's got a warranty.

Edit: Oh shit. I didn't notice the Apollo card was DDR2. Go for what Freezer posted. The GTS is much better.

It may be stretching it a bit, but the GTS is way faster than the GT, and is certainly has more value than the GT.

No, don't. The DDR2 8600s have a serious performance loss to the ones with GDDR3. And 512MB on a card of that power/performance is just redicilous.

Why doesn't he save up for only a bit and buy an 8600GTS. It outperformas the 8600GT and only costs $5 more, although the box has been opened.

cheapest 8600GTS with unopened box costs $90.

Although 8600 series is still shit compared to the 8800 series or 3850/3870....

What are the rest of the specs of your friends PC?
