Is it part of the Master Money Plan

Since 1.2 came out, all the guys/gals who like to play infantry are on the most part happy. Do you think that this was intentional from EA to make sure as many people as possible buy Euro-Forces?

Do you think they are going to appease all the Air crew players with another patch, maybe somewhere inbetween 1.12 and 1.2 just before Armoured Fury comes out. Is an A-10 going to last long against the current AA magic missile ?

Is it a money making ploy? Or are they doing their best to keep everyone happy?

Nah I just think it's poor management and zero testing on their part.

That makes no sense in response to the original post. The question was concerning the intent of EA with the recent patch and their possible future plans.

EA listened to the community and attempted to remove exploits that were never intended to be part of the game. I think their intentions were good, but the result fell a little short. I agree that the the aircraft needed to be adjusted, but I think they went too far. I would have been happy if they were to have just adjusted the AA missles when locked on. As it was before you were just as likely to hit an aircraft you were not locked on to as opposed to the one you actually were locked on to.

Personally I do hope they scale bak a little on the recent AA changes when they release the next patch - which will have to be pretty soon since the new patch is making servers crash on certain maps!

Ok, for the most part I think most of people that play this game are casual gamers, and secondly that most of them don't get into helicopters and jets too often. It's only a select group of people maybe a good 25-30% of the people that play this game are dedicated pilots as opposed to a larger group of people that play more infantry and armor. Meaning pilots get shafted when going for majority rules, and not gonna lie I personally say good. I really have little to no care that you pilots can't get your 200 point rounds anymore.

But in all, I think it was a shift to appease the more casual gamer on EA or Dice's part.

Of course it is part of the master money plan, as you put it. Every business is solely out to make profit. They have no desire to make quality games, they just produce enough so people will pay the asking price.

This is why mods are generally of much better quality than most retail games, the developers actually want to create a solid, high quality product.

Other developers like Valve and Bethseda to name a few do spend a lot of time producing games of high quality, but in essense it is still about the money, it's just they care more about their customers.

Sure, no problem. But, it gets old with people making the same off the cuff remarks all the time. If any of you even realized the difficulty of actually putting out a piece of software of this complexity you wouldn't be so glib. I manage the testing department for a software company and I understand that it is not as simple as many of you make it. Could EA have done a better job? Yes. But the rush to get out the patch was driven by the community more than anything. How many posts did you see on this forum about the patch before it was ever released? A lot.

That didn't stop Half Life 2 coming out about 2 years late

I'd much rather they say, "sorry guys, it's not quite done yet. We'll release it when we're 100% happy"

Yeah, EA will put their money on the line and make the video console games work fine like the Madden NFL series for Xbox, etc. But try to make BF2 work correctly for PC? I doubt it.

How can they even consider releasing EuroForces with all the probelms people are complaining about with the 1.2 patch? I can't even get into the freaking game anymore.

Are there still a bunch of servers playing the older version? I'm getting tired waiting for the crappy answers from EA as to why I can't get in anymore after the new patch. I just want to play!!!

This just in!!!!! EA does indeed intend on turning a profit with their Battlefield series.  How revolutionary!
