It's pretty OD. I have no idea how the city goes about clearing these types of messes. (Though they must have a good one (9/11)). This could have been avoided. Apparently the workers broke all sorts of codes, making the crane unsafe. I guess is takes disasters to make people think.

I was staying on 51st and between 2nd and 3rd. The first site to greet my eyes upon getting out of my taxi from the airport was about a million firetrucks and that crane. It happened shortly before I arrived. You should see what it did to a little three story house.
