This has been happening on and off for the last 3 months. Some days I'll load into a BF2 server, I'll play for 2 minutes and it kicks me back to BF2HQ saying "Your connection to the server has been lost". Other days it'll play just perfectly.

I've tried resetting my router, IP renew, port forwarding, the works but nothing seems to help. Could this be my internet or is it on EA's end?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

PunkBuster often causes that.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Do you get the "There's a problem with your connection error" before getting booted? Updating PB is one solution, but another, less known home remedy is this

Whilst playing PR last night, JesusBot told me after I got disconnected and re-entered . . .

When you see the message, press the Esc key to bring up the BF2 menu. Wait six seconds. Press Esc to get back into the game. Sometimes, it takes two Esc presses.

Everything should be normal, but you may suffer a death because of the error. Still, better than waiting to reconnect, right?

I don't even get a warning. My game freezes for about 2 seconds then it crashes to BF2HQ.

Hmm, I got that occasionally. It usually happens when I get kicked, but I'm not informed. So I get out of the game and see if there's a new PB version. There was an update.
