ok...im gonna go for my expert explosives badge sometime this week....i got my basic and veteran badges purely with c4...however after the latest patch im thinking maybe its easier to get it with claymores...

overall i need 37 kills with explosives!!!!! any advice please would be great!

Ug... PRE-PATCH I almost got it with 35 kills with Claymores.  Now after the patch everyone is using them.  It used to be that I was the ONLY one using them on any given map.  I wish they would revert the 'mines can't be blown up by explosives' code for claymores.  Right now they are over the top powerful, which I knew was going to happen when they made them non-friendly fire trippable(yes you can still die in the blast if an enemy trips it) AND non-destructible.  I got gold medal 2 straight times the other night as a sniper.  If you have enough support kits dropping ammo packs, you can make the entire hotel spawn impenetrable with a squad of snipers.  I mean I could double cover 3 of the entrances to the hotel at a time.

As for advice?  Heck, just drop them close to the enemy.  I was going to make a Claymore guide before the patch, but now it's just no-brainer to get kills with them .  Drop them at entrances/exits and you'll get kills.  If the enemy want to take a flag, they're going to HAVE to go through the Claymores as there is no way to remove them unless someone takes a death for it.

I got mine on Warlord (64 player size) with 16 people playing. 2 C4's on the ATV then drive right into the tanks and APC's, jump off and detonate so you stay alive.

nah, you don't need to play on a 16 player map anymore. just go on any 64 player karkand and drop claymores in the hotel alleyways.
Expert explosives is a joke now, with the smart claymores.

one question though: did they also make AT mines smart mines?

Same for me only at Karkand. Other tactic for Karkand: In the early stage, it's easy with the hotel because their are lots of corners to hide for the explosion. The C4 has with patch 1.2 a huge advantage: You can throw C4 much harder/futher. You drop it, go behind a corner and boom! You have a kill. When the hotel is captures by Americans, use the tactic that I have quoted (C4 a Hummer and kill tanks or people). A 16 people/64 person map is the best option. Otherwise, you don't have enough time to make it till 37.

Yeah.  I think AT mines were the reasoning behind making them both indestructible and non-FF.  That's why I'm hoping them make Claymores destructible.  I would love to see ATs destructible with C4 only though.  That would give Spec-Ops a new sapper role.

I just got my exp explosives with the claymores. Its much more easy cause even when you die they will detonate. The only thing i dont understand with the mines is the following. This round i had 52 kills with clatmores only and at the last kill i recieved my badge. Sometimes when you kille a guy it says that you killed someone but not with what. So appereantly, not always a claymore kill is recorded as a claymore kill. I dont understand it, but i finally have this fucking badge.

Exactly my take on it. I worked for my exp. explosives pre-patch. If only I had known how easy it was going to be. I got 30+ kills with claymore pre-patch also and think it was fine the way it was. (although there are advantages to having smart claymores)
