Anyone got an estimate for what proportion of players just play a regular vanilla version of BF2 without hacking, glitching, and er macros (what they?). I like a good game now and then... running a 1.33 Ghz box I have some disadvantages.. not least taking 5 minutes to load a map.. but get my kicks. Sometimes I do wonder what I am up against when I get capped by a single shot from some dude diving through the air.. and in vehicle vs vehicle with mounted MG i always die .. like he was aiming right at my head or something. It would be nice to know that there are some servers somewhere where people just want to play it in regular fashion without artificial aids.
1.33 processor?
@ the start you will think every skilled player is cheating, but when you get into the game you will see a fine line between cheaters and skilled players.
that's very true, i can usually spot a a hacker now, there are some players i wish were hackers, but they are just better then me lol
it's all a bout knowing the map, how it is played, probable locations of enemies (this helps so much when knowing what flag to go for)

Well, I haven't played in six months or so, but back then I would've put the number of "straight players" at 99%.
Play singleplayer FTW! Bots don't cheat....lol
We must've been separated at birth. After I've traced an exceptionally good player, and come to the conclusion he's clean, I'll take it like a gentleman.Tehremos wrote:

But if it's a hacking/glitching pig, he's going down!
and they are very respectable, run in close and get your knife out, and the politely accept a knifey duelCollin2000 wrote:

Lies. I've seen so many times those bastards using aimbots. After killing one of my bots, they'd snap onto my head. And their pistol accuracy. Shameless.Collin2000 wrote:

I never do, because I don't know how to. Plus I enjoy playing a pure game.
That being said, I have been accused of cheating...which to me is an honor ;-).
I think I know where to find the cheats, but I will let God be God & enjoy my non-godlike gameplay.

I have gotten one shot kills with even the F2000!!! I would attribute it to luck, or bad luck to the other hoofer.Phil_F wrote:

And yes, aiming at the head does help you significantly.
Here is a general axiom of BF2, if you see your guy before he sees you, you will die! Especially if you go prone.
Headshots do triple damage; any weapon with a damage of 34 or greater will drop an enemy with 1 shot to the head. Check here to see weapon damages;Korny09 wrote:

No hack/cheat/macro here
I guess between 95 - 100% of people play cheat free.
I think there is a large gap in the perception of people cheating and the actual number that do. I can say that I have probably seen about 10 blatant cheats in all my hours (and probably about 40-50 get PB auto banned)

I've only seen confirmed hackers very rarely, but glitchers are pretty common.
Play on our server when it's up . . . we have a strict anti cheat policy in our clan and on our server, and we are members of punksbusted.com to keep hackers off the server. We have caught 171 hackers to date.
Now played on =E= server. Its great, too bad i was lazy at the moment and didnt wanna connect my mic
Overall it is great, has some good teamwork. Some dude saved my life twice i think(Hey, thanks)
Too bad im in EU so i have a ping of 130, but its still good performance

1.33 GHz - yeah I know it is slow.Tehremos wrote:

I just play different lol I avoid head-on confused melees as I can't keep up.
I keep my head down and use single shot settings.. unless in really close quarters. Take my time. I guess sniping a lot.. as it isn't as dependent on immediacy...
Yeah I can accept getting whupped. Ha. As long as I get my kicks in too. I don't think I have really come against dedicated hackers.. well except for that irritating commander hack crap that lags the servers so badly. In a rapid situation.. like coming round a corner and meeting someone head on yeah they dive to the ground and cap me in the melon everytime.. I guess I am moving in "Matrix" time compared to them ha.
Other times... you will be playing OK and the server starts to lag badly for no apparent reason and you just wonder if somebody is messing about and causing the problem.

1360hours and Ive seen, oh, about 4 definite hackers.
I saw more on CSS in the first month that I had it (just after it was released) than I have in my entire time on BF2.
Ive seen more hackers on SOF2 than what everybody on this forum, put together, has seen on BF2 - I can guarantee that: there was no anti-cheat software

I've seen 1 hacker which wasn't spamming vehicle drops. He was dropping supply crates for himself while I was commander and I watched him locking on to enemies. I've seen about 10 people using the vehicle drop hack.
Unless I've avoided the hackers by not playing IO.

Yeah, forgot about the commander hacks...seen plenty of those, but very few aimbotters...
Toilet sex, I would expect more hackers on IO tbh...more targets for them.
