So I put Rick Astley on my PSP and came into school today. I had this all planned out - I would go into IT last lesson, get my friend on a RickRoll website and play the song from my PSP, as there is no video/sound on these school computers, as videos are blocked.

So I went into IT, I had this all planned, I told my friend this funny site, clicked on it, played the song full blast and started dancing around, while my mate was just laughing, until.......

the Headteacher comes in. Eep.

Look, I really don't like internet "Memes" I think they're stupid because generally the joke runs it's course about a day after it's created yet they last for a couple of months.
They're one of the things I really don't like about the internet - another being Anonymous - and I think it's sad that these things are leaking through into real life. Leave them on the interet where they belong!
RickRolling isn't funny anyway, I don't know who first thought it'd be a good idea - I guess it would have started with that Family Guy episode or something but why do what the Family Guy writers do? They're fucking Manatees!

There seem to be at least three extremely popular destinations for the Rick Roll. They all, of course, are videos of Rick Astley's 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" and all three exist on YouTube. The oldest one was established by YouTube user Darksaberx on May 5th, 2007 and seems to be a Rick Roll about "Halo 3" gameplay. It's hard to tell whether or not this guy invented Rick Rolling, but others have followed in his footsteps.

Rickrolling began on 4chan's /v/ imageboard on the day of Grand Theft Auto 4's official website premier. However, due to heavy traffic on the website, it was impossible to watch the trailer for quite some time, so Anonymous took it upon himself to link everyone to a supposedly leaked trailer hosted on YouTube

Rickrolling has become popular outside of 4chan. Many different website communities have claimed they invented Rickrolling, such as GameFAQs, who claim that the Rickroll started on their Halo3 board. World of Warcraft gamers, (WoWfags), have also laid claim to inventing the Rickroll, and have beaten it to old meme death on their game forums twice as fast as 4chan ever could have done. The Washington hometown forum on AK47.net, filled with a bunch of old guys with guns, is also known for having links off to the Rickroll all over the place. Rickrolling is also known to get babies to stfu.
