EA/Dice listen!

Why, for gods sake you have brought a long desired patch for BF2 towards the community without being properly tested???

What the hell came over you? '...huge thanks to our community for helping us grasp the issues that have made your gameplay less than optimal at times. We are very happy with the improvements in this patch and sincerely hope you are all pleased with the work we’ve done...' - afterwards that sounds - at least, strange.

It may be right that there was some small public beta-testing with some specific and carefully selected community-sites/members, but was IS the result?
After reading Kobrakai's excellent roundup - http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=14317&p=1 - about the bugs, which have been found since 1.2 patch, i will seriously challenge the effort of this procedure.

The huge BF2-community was able to collect all those bugs in less than a week - crazy uh?
So why you don't simply USE those immense human resources and perform next time a more 'open' public beta-testing? Maybe on some selected/specific 'unranked servers' were players, who are keen on digging into details can seriously perform all kinds of experiments.
I am convinced that a lot of clan-members, active and serious players or simply the explorers among us would be glad to use such an option. Maybe such a disaster like with patch 1.2 will then be just history and not harm this beloved multiplayer-game and its community in such a bad way again.

This is not an EA/Dice website, so who the fuck are you talking to?

Sometimes I wish that EA/DICE would ask Chuy to choose a selected number of people to be an independent test group. This group, which was hand selected, would attempt to break the game on a private passworded server running the beta patch. Call it the BF2S Beta Team.

I'm pretty sure we could tell them what's wrong faster than this apparently secret beta test group they have housed in some lab somewhere in their companies.

Exact kilroy0097! That idea of one or more 'independent test group(s)' was one out of a bunch of other thoughts ongoing in my brain. It should be obvious that my initial posting here is not directly aimed towards Dice/EA but towards the community here . I have, of course, also posted my thoughts about the unsatisfactory beta-testing of patch 1.2 both towards EA/Dice and their boards.

I'll second your opinion about such an 'independent test group' being much more efficient than any (maybe) test-unit 'inhouse' of both companies. It is a fact, that the BF2-community itself, especially BF2S.COM, has worked and pointed out some serious flaws about the new patch in a very, very short time. The 'fast reaction potential' here and on some other big community-boards appeals much more efficent to me than some absolute secret testing with a nasty surprise-patch afterwards.
I am not posting much but i am a regular reader here at BF2S.COM. The community here was + still is my 1st. source for new information about this and that with BF2. So for me personally no surprise: Most issues about the topic 'patch 1.2' were discussed here including some productive thoughts, how to avoid such negative escalation next time and what has to be fixed ASAP.

So yes, I'll second your suggestion.
