well why would the process for selecting a presidential nominee make you believe that democracy is failing.  I could understand if you are a  democrat.

What if the other party has a system that resembles it via a winner-takes-all situation?

The Republican primaries aren't any better because of their lack of proportional representation.

Essentially, neither party has a truly democratic system, and the general election isn't democratic either.  We live in an increasingly plutocratic republic where money means more than votes.
