Or just against their 'music.'GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Thats just the problem, a lot of the inner city kids that listen to the crap dont have really have people to look up to, and do just what "Killa Cam" raps about.Liberal-Sl@yer wrote:
That's right, bring on Amon Amarth!PBAsydney wrote:
Introduce the kids to proper music, problem fixed.
In all seriousness, I believe that gangsta rap only harms impressionable youth. If people have intellegence then gangsta rap is ineffective. It's the same way with all types of music.
Makes me think of Dave Gorman's new thing....Turquoise wrote:

"Gangsta" just seems to be another word for rubbish.
There is loads of great rap. But these idiots going on about poppin' some caps, are just morons who can't think of anything more interesting or productive to say.
People like the Roots, Tribe Called Quest etc. actually produce decent quality rap music without feeling much need to spout this sort of juvenile drivel all the time and their music is much better for it.
I can't say I care for rap, don't really hate it though. The poppin' caps, soulja-boy type stuff is drivel though.
I don't think rap is the cause of the world's woes. Shitty parenting is.

Thanks for the Gorman link. I'll definitely look for that one when it comes out. And yeah, the Roots are quite good.Bertster7 wrote:

Soulja Boy is, perhaps, the worst "artist" ever produced by the music industry. I think I'd rather even listen to Hanson than him.HurricaИe wrote:

I rap.
I rap about real things just like Cam'Ron or whatever the fuck his name is
I seldom cuss in my raps
I rap about real situations.
And it doesn't hurt anyone but who I'm aiming it towards
This idiot on the other hand, is a bad influence.
The guy with his hat covering his whole face (real profession btw) is a idiot. how do his raps promote being a CEO wtf?
My philosophy is if you need to cuss and talk about all this shit and make just another stupid club rap that someones going to forget in a few months, then you suck.
Try listening to Atmosphere. That, is real rap.

...not.
I can't stand any form of gangsta rap or hip-hop. Something like Sage Francis is fine, but most "popular" (i.e. what 70-90% of people listen to and enjoy) music is tripe
