Edit: Seems this was already posted. Forgive me, but in my defense, that thread was posted in the wrong section (hence I didn't see it) and I guess you can't search for URLs. You can find the older thread right here.

It's really sad how they missed that in the tests they ran...

That is if they actually bothered to test it at all.

I think it's funny how they delayed the 1.2 patch for as long as they did, and then released it anyway. EA once again caters to whiners who say that they should be able to get kills while using the mouse with their toes, talking on their cell phones and reading Great Expectations.

I sat in AA and got 17 kills in one match with my monitor off. Nobody thinks there's something wrong with that?

Those owned. I could shoot down planes WAY better with those. I raped some pretty good people with crazy stinger shots back in the day. It was good times.

Why the hell didn't they do that then... the stingers I mean...

Only ever got to play 1942 for about two hours, never expierienced the stingers from that...
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

BF42 didn't have stingers. Stingers are a modern invention. You grandpa wasn't running around with one in WW2.

In DC, they were basically fast RPGs with no arc.

Pehaps because Stingers actually are heat seekers (as well as UV aware.)

Ah...good old 1942. Anybody remember the satisfaction of RPG-induced Stuka wreckage?

They should make the AA like laser guided missles on the bomber....have to keep the crosshair on the target to have a chance of hitting.....

The pilots were the lamest on the planet, maybe that's wrong with it?

If you know how to handle the new AA it's a medium threat, the Tunguska or the Essex guns are the ones to fear,if you just ignore them you are dead, simple as that.

When the jet or chopper is in the right spot the missile is a sure hit,but it's the pilot's job not to be in that spot.
On the servers I play on a lot of Stingers and IGLAs still miss or do not even get a lock on because the pilots have already adapted to the new threat and they still rule the battlefield, the only thing that has changed is that the ideal altitude for jets is a bit more up in the sky(higher than missilelock)....

You are just way exaggerating the whole AA issue, that 98% of the missiles hit is a total bullshit statement.

Stop bitchin. I know it looks horrible. And it is. But if you launch a missile at anything that doesnt have flares or something to avoid it then it is SCREWED. Even flares wont always help, same with chaff. It is the games best interpretation of the rule, missile+lock+you=SCREWED.

So I guess if I'm an angry MEC, all I have to do to stop that chopper fire is to have my buddies blindfold me and stick me in a mounted stinger launcher. I can spin around aimlessly and just wait for the tone. *claps hands and squeals with glee*

Let's all use our unlimited supply of AA missiles to the exclusion of all else. Isn't that realistic. Are we having fun yet?

any attempts to say that this is OK are ridiculous.
surely only an emotional reaction from some crappy player that is bitter about getting bombed five times in a row some time way back when

i tested this out
i launched a missle into an oil derrick and then into another one and went off on foot, a minute later some poor fool in an enemy plane flew past and as i got a kill because the missles waited in the flames of the oil derrick like a mine - locking onto the heat of the plane and whizzing out to gain me a kill. this is a ridiculous bug period

Yup,exactly.

The game has changed from "jets can just fly everywhere on the map and don't care,AA doesn't hit shit anyways" to "Get locked on and you are dead".

Sure, the tower bug and the zig zag lines have to go,they just are faulty game physics, but the "get locked on  and die"-accuracy is ok now,it's quite easy to fly above missile lock, these AA-sites have a very poor range upwards.
