Cam, is there something wrong with your connection? You've been dual posting...
April Fools on the internet fails. Especially on tech sites. Every year they think it's unique and funny to twist some spec slightly askew and then point at people and laugh at them for having the gall to actually believe any word of it. And it doesn't go away...much of it sticks around, confusing the shit out of people for months.
But something like "Hillary Likens Herself to Jesus" would be funny...

Oh, what a surprise, another Islamophobe thread.
http://www.theocracywatch.org/At a "Reclaiming America for Christ" conference in February, 2005, Kennedy said:
"Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society.
Yeah, only Muslims. I wonder why theocracywatch.com isn't referenced by FOXNEWS all the time? Muppets like you certainly would be interested, I'm sure.
Apparently Conservative Christian judges hate us (at least our constitution) for our freedom too.Christianity transcends the political order and cannot be subordinated to the political order.

How the fuck can you blame Palestinians for wanting the death of their oppressors - they guys who made 75% of Palestine HOMELESS when they were created? Honestly, sometimes I wonder how you even manage to turn a computer on.Lotta_Drool wrote:

I wonder if that is an Irishman playing the bagpipes.

Then shouldn't the Palestinians take their anger out on 1) the UN; 2) the UK; 3) their Arab brothers who have done the square root of fuckall to help them over the years?konfusion wrote:

Yup - but it's much easier to take it out on people who are closer for them.FEOS wrote:

For that matter, Israelis are still bulldozing in their territory, and making their country smaller. Furthermore, I'm not sure how educated people can get in Palestine, considering their poverty (which is not being improved with the conflicts going on). Lastly - they see Israelis killing their people. What you have in front of your eyes usually makes you react more than what is written in history books.

So its a site run by ex-Muslims, not Muslims.
So will you take my word on Catholic thought and ideology as truth, seeing as I went to CCD for 12 years, Catholic High School, was baptized, received first communion, and was confirmed as a Catholic, even though now I'm not?

I'd actually argue that people who have been exposed to a religion and then left it tend to be the most rational in assessing the said religion because they are no longer part of it. Once you can attain a 3rd person perspective on something, you can more rationally analyze something.
Sure, some of these people probably have an axe to grind against Islam, but then again, it's kind of hard not to have one when you look at how unruly much of the Islamic World is at the moment.
Just today, it's become known that the Indonesian government has banned Fitna, and they are threatening to ban youtube from their country. I'd say that's pretty solid proof that Muslims aren't very cognizant in understanding or tolerating criticism. They need to lighten up some.
Unfortunately, it's also proof that fanaticism seems to be rampant in Islam outside of the Middle East just as it is within it.

This annoys me. I can't speak for every 'librul' here but I have acknowledged on countless occasions that horrific tales from the Muslim world do in fact exist and this islam-watch site reflects some of these tales... what I have always stressed is that these stories do not reflect the full story of what Islam is.lowing wrote:

I could very easily set up a website that documents American torture, unlawful killings in warzones, dropping of napalm on little girls, US soldiers raping young Vietnamese girls, US military blowing the limbs of Iraqi children, the US aiding and abetting terrorist murderers like the Cuban Possada Carriles, the support and installation of dictators like Saddam Hussein and the terrorist Osama Bin Laden... now tell me would that site be a balanced portrait of what America is?

I can see where you're coming from, but the next question should be: do most Islamic majority countries participate in more brutality or does the U.S.?Braddock wrote:

Well, admittedly, Muslims in America tend to be sensible people. I'm sure most Muslims in Europe are sensible as well, but there's no denying that a good portion of them throw a shit fit over cartoons and the like. Doesn't that indicate mental illness?CameronPoe wrote:

I'm not trying to attack the US... again! What I was trying to show was that a website showing only the bad side of something, though it has merit and is worthy of acknowledging, should never be used on it's on to build your entire set of opinions on a subject. Perhaps Lotta_Drool and lowing should check out some sites featuring tales from people who's lives have been lit up with the joy of Allah and have interpreted the Qu'ran in a way that has led them to live a peaceful happy existence, free of hatred and extremism!Turquoise wrote:

Sorry, but you lost me with your comparison. America isn't a Religion. You can take or leave a Religion or belief system. If I leave America I would end up in Canada or Mexico. Then you would just point out how bad Canada and Mexico are and I would have to move again.
Who made that conclusion, you?lowing wrote:

Wow, that wasn't very hard.
I saw Catholicism for what it was - a powerhungry, male-dominated social group contrived of archaic rituals set around the interpretation of a book written at least 1500 years ago.
Do I know what I am talking about? Sure. Does that mean it's the universal truth? No.
Is that hard to understand, because I can dumb it down if you need me to.
