So yesterday I had a conversation with my boss, asking me how I as doing. I said every is going well and I like the work very much, meeting people, driving through the country and the co-workers are nice. Then he said that that is good but I get the feeling from co-workers that you don't have the feeling to become a good mover, you have good meanings, never late, always looking good(shaved, comany clothes washed, shoes tied good etc) but you are not becoming a mover.

I was shocked, I didn't expect this at all, nobody told me what I was doing wrong for a half year and now he says that I'm not doing my work good?!

Although my boss said that I have nothing to worry about:'You are 19, have good reference, have your truck-license, you can start anywhere in the transport business', this was not helping at all. I don't wanna do anything else, I like my job but it has no piont on focussing to become a succesfull mover.

I walked out with mixed feelings. On one side I was happy, no more heavy lifting, no more getting up at 0500 and coming home at 1900 hours. On the other side I was amazed that I did not see that I was not doing my work correctly, I don't have my huge enormous Mercedes Actros Megaspace anymore ( ) and that I am losing great co-workers.

So now I go to go find other work, really, REALLY sucks.

Dude, you're 19? Practically same age as me And you're already driving big huge lorrys and spending thousands of pounds on PC's and shit?

I don't even think you're allowed to drive a HGV until you're like 21 or 25 or something, over here

Well, if you sell your computer, you'll have money for half a year.

Nah, sorry, that was mean. Hope it turns out ok, if you've got good reference, you'll find another job soon. Ask your old boss to write some recommendations and stuff.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

That's what my boss said but I don't have ADR, so I can't drive tankers, I don't have ATP, so I can't drive thermocooled trucks. Only thing I got left are Delivery services (DHL, Fed EX) and Containers (JGT Rotterdam, Norfolkline) which I both have a thought about that it is not what I want.

Bet you feel like shit right now but look at the other ide of the coin, what your boss has done is open you up to new opportunities and an exciting new chapter in your life that if you were doing your old job you wouldnt be able to take on.

Good luck in finding new employment I am sure it wont be long until something new comes along.

yeah they are cutting back fuel is expensive plus a lot of truck drivers are on the strike since they pay more for the gas than how much they make.

I've been looking for a part time job for ages, no-one seems interested. I've applied for: Tesco (3 times) Argos (2), B&Q (2), Wickes (1), random charity shop (1), Homebase (1), The works (2),HMV (1) and WHSmith (1).

it sucks, no-one replys back (except to say better luck next time).

good luck finding a new job.

Very true.

Sorry to hear about your job dude, your young and have many options available to you. Plus you have a truck license I'm 20 and can't even drive lol, just having a driving license gives you so much more opportunities. As for looking for a new job treat it as a job, the freedom and kicking back is fun for a bit. Just don't give up I'm sure you'll be ok.

Good luck!
