funky look at your test times, one was at 3 a.m. (less users) they other was at 5 pm (lots of users)

If you want an accurate test, do them at the same time

So if you're on Tiscali, complain that your speeds are shite and they'll upgrade you. Hopefully.

BTW you're getting just under 5Mbps download there which isn't too bad for Tiscali, if you want sometihing a bit better Tiscali now owns Freedom2Surf who have much better quality hardware at their disposal, if you argued enough you might get a free transfer to their services instead, I'm on their broadband for gamers service, puts you on their newest servers, halved my pings from the standard broadband i had with them and I speed test between 6.5-7.1Mbps peak times, get nearly the full 8Mb during the night.
