i have some altec lansings with some surround sound built into the headphone - anyway the right channel just crapped out.  plus i hated that stupid inline volume control thing since it was very oversized.  whenever i moved that thing would slide off the desk and the cord would pull on the headset distracting me - usually when i'm in a firefight.  grrr

anyway, any recommendations on a new headset?  i exclusively use it for games and use teamspeak.  plus, i really hate that inline volume control (unless it is light and small).

thanks in advance

lol, my right channel on my headphones just shit itself too.

No mean to hijack your thread here, but I guess I'm in need of a new headset as well.

ebug,  thanks - i looked at those but noticed that the headset size doesn't adjust.  is this a problem at all?  i like the fact that it goes around the back of your head so you don't have headphone-head.

What do you mean by size? I have a pretty big head and there's about an inch and a half of space between my skull and the part that wraps around the back of your head. The sides fit snugly on your ears so it stays up.

The only downside, I found it got a bit irritating after wearing it for more than 5 hours at a time.

You might want to steer clear of those Logitech's - I'm currently borrowing a set of those from a friend - now, I believe they are a replacement set for some he had previously, on which the cable broke - sound only coming out of one side, and guess what, on the one's I'm borrowing - the cable's broke - sound only coming out of one side.

I find logitechs products in general to be made just well enough to keep selling. (And I keep buying, because they make everything...and at good prices )

I own a lot of logitech stuff and I'm only really happy with my mouse.

IMO it would be better to buy separate headphones and mic.
Good headphones are really nice to have. I would be more willing to spend a little extra on headphones if I could use them in public for listening to music too.

Quality earbuds imo kick ass.
Very discreet, blocks out backround noise better, and in my experience has a more immersive sound for the money.

I own a pair of shure E2c earbuds and love them, though I don't know if you want to spend $100 on headphones....

thanks guys for the info.  i was actually considering getting the Razer Barracudas but it's just that inline volume control thing that bugs me.  i'll have to check it out.  i already have the tarantula and lachesis so i guess it would all match up.

i've also looked at the fatal1ty headphones - they're half the price of the razer ones.  guess i need to just try them out.

i would have considered the in-ear buds but when i wear those things my ears get really itchy inside due to the heat and moisture - it just bugs me.  i appreciate the sound and the fact that you can pack them up in really small space for traveling.  but i'm more into the can style.

thanks again!
