Ok there are laws in this country, and if he owns the guns legally.. There really isn't much to be done.

What happen to all those people? You don't hear about them much anymore... Everyone's getting soft I guess

That guy's got an interesting arsenal. But remember 'guns don't kill people, people kill people'

Well, shouldn't this be a case where gun restrictions come into play? I think that if someone does this, he should have his guns confiscated for a set amount of time... my god, I hate gun laws - they really aren't working...

its not the fact that he owns a gun or a hundred guns ...... its the fact that the he made threats on the Internet

just because someone owns guns, should they be figured for a potentially murderer

take me for an example ... most on here have seen pics of some of my arsenal and it won't be long before I pass this guy up on weapon and ammo count

...And the common denominator: "Wong felt isolated and cut off."
Interestingly, this feeling has also been associated with Muslim terrorists.

Owning guns=fine
Threatening to kill people=serious problem!

Threatening to kill people on the internet? Look around the forum haha..

Seriously though he technically didn't do anything illegal, makeing threats on the internet could have just been a vent and now he's getting arrested for basically a thought crime?

Article wrote:

Wong was charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily injury via the computer...
I think that's a bit past the "thought" in thought crime, don't you?

Should have read the article - anything written on the internet shouldn't be taken seriously right away, unless it's from a credible source.

It's just not something people should do. The internet is a telecommunications system, not an imaginary friend.

Here is an example where gun control laws can be used to benefit people. He made a threat do kill people. Revoke his right to own guns.

I don't get what the big deal is.  His weapons have NOTHING to do with this case.  Further, they're all legal, and he had a business in arms trading.  He vented about a bad deal where he got screwed out of $800, and he even went to the FBI/ATFE and probably got laughed at because they don't like people owning guns.  I know I'd be quite pissed and say threatening things...but legal things.

What is the penalty for written threats exactly?  Is it a misdemeanor, felony?  No specifics whatsoever except what the media and detective Aquino guessed.  This is media hype from the media based on media derived fear from the VT shooting.

Now if this kid had any written plans, discussed with others such plans, had video images or layouts of a school or something to substantiate his message board threat...THEN they'd have something serious..something news worthy.

Could he have done what he said, sure thing.  Could my 70 year old mother have done anything, sure thing.  But fortunately there's no laws against potentially performing a massacre...that's reserved for the movies.

Look at the guy! does he look like someone who should be stock piling that kinda shit in those amounts? for for him to even think about saying what he did he should be locked up. how much evidence or we suppose to wait for before action is taken? then when you wait to long, you go back and look at some of the warning signs and think, well we should have done something about it when we first heard he bought if 10Th machine gun..

If some G gangster looking fool walks into the gun store, would you wanna sell him a gun? you think he is just a average gun collector?

allot of peoples social acts are now lived on the Internet so why would they not be as serous as in real life? its just like making a threat over the phone

If I remember the article right, he was buying and selling before 20. I'm pretty sure there was some stuff in his stockpile that he wasn't exactly supposed to have. I'd have to check out Florida state laws.

Question 1: Why did he get bail?

Edit: Is the judge a moron?  *throws hands up*
