Hi

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem that I am (I am a premium user). In the morning time, I get ~500-900kb/s (usually the latter) - which is great when downloading multiple files from the RS servers. However, in the evening time it drops to just ~250kb/s max - and at about 10PM it drops to a max of ~100kb/s, sometimes even ~20. It's starting to become really annoying!

I am with British Telecommunications (BT) and have had issues in the past with rapidshare (it wouldn't let me load the site - blacklist perhaps?) but those have been long resolved. Could this have anything to do with my personal configurations, be it through Internet Download Manager (the program I use to download) or through IP/router settings? I appreciate any help. My connection is an 8MB line and IDM has been set to download at "T1" speeds (previously I had set it to 8192bps) - I don't notice any difference in speed.

Thanks in advance!

Same.

It's just got to do with Peak times. In the morning/late at night I get about 600-700KB/s but during peak times I would only just about get 100.

BT limit your speed if you are an intensive user.  At least they do for me anyway.

you tried finding another server(rapidshare server) when downloading at night? I sometimes have to do this to get the best download speeds.

8192kbps is about six times as fast as a T1, so perhaps you should set it back to that.
